This chapter discusses the role of policy making in telecommunications in Hong Kong. It focuses on the Office of the Telecommunications Authority (OFTA), the department responsible for telecommunication regulation, including the transport of TV and radio content over transmission media. It examines OFTA's policies on competition, information and communications technologies, licensing, interconnection, and tariffs.
