Hong Kong University Press, an integral part of the University of Hong Kong, has as its central mission the publication of high-quality scholarship on the Asian region and beyond.  The Press publishes more than 70 new titles each year by authors from around the world.

Through Hong Kong Scholarship Online (HKSO), the Hong Kong University Press plays a unique and important role in the intellectual discourse of Hong Kong, China and the broader Asia region. The Press's publications for international readers focus on cultural studies, film and media studies, history, linguistics, and economics and finance. 

The nine disciplines offered in HKSO, are recent selected works from the successful series including the Royal Asiatic Society Hong Kong Studies Series,Understanding China, Queer Asia, TransAsia: Screen Culture, Asian Englishes Today, and New Hong Kong Cinema. This collection will be an important resource for scholars and for general readers seeking a greater understanding of modern China and Asia.
