This chapter primarily centres on the economic cooperation between Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China to examine the impacts of the Asian financial crisis on trade and investment flows among the three entities. Their longer-term implications for China as a whole in the context of economic integration among nations are discussed as well. Finally, the prospects for further economic cooperation within Greater China are also expounded.
